Scope of services
Sparked Smart provides smart home design, installation, configuration, and support services, including but not limited to:
- Smart lighting and audio systems
- Heating and climate control
- CCTV and security systems
- Home networking and Wi-Fi improvements
- Home automation systems and wall-mounted control tablets
- Ongoing maintenance and support
Electrical work is carried out either within our permitted scope or by qualified partner electricians where required.
Advice, quotations, and design
- Initial advice and quotations are provided in good faith based on information available at the time.
- All recommendations are tailored to your requirements and existing equipment.
- We do not promote or install unnecessary systems or features.
Quotes are valid for a limited time and may be subject to change if requirements change.
Home Assistant and third-party platforms
Some systems installed or configured by Sparked Smart may use third-party software, platforms, or integrations, including but not limited to Home Assistant and manufacturer APIs.
You acknowledge that:
- Home Assistant is an open-source platform developed and maintained by third parties.
- Features, integrations, or device compatibility may change due to updates outside of our control.
- Some integrations rely on third-party cloud services or APIs which may be altered, limited, or withdrawn by the provider.
Sparked Smart is not responsible for:
- Changes to third-party software or services
- Loss of functionality caused by manufacturer updates or API changes
- Downtime or limitations of external services
Where possible, we design systems to operate locally and without subscriptions, but some devices may still depend on third-party services.
Subscriptions and ongoing costs
- Sparked Smart does not charge mandatory monthly subscription fees for installed systems.
- Any optional subscriptions required by third-party manufacturers (if chosen by the customer) are the responsibility of the customer.
- We will always make customers aware of any known ongoing costs before installation.
Electrical work
- Any work requiring certification under UK electrical regulations will be carried out by a qualified electrician, either directly or via a trusted partner.
- Sparked Smart does not falsely claim electrical qualifications beyond those held.
- Certification is provided where applicable.
Customer responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your property, network, and existing systems
- Ensure reasonable access to the property for installation and support
- Maintain basic network infrastructure (power, internet connection, etc.)
We are not responsible for issues caused by:
- Poor internet service from your ISP
- Existing faulty wiring or equipment
- Changes made by third parties after installation
Maintenance and support
- Ongoing maintenance and support may be offered as a one-off service or as part of an agreed support arrangement.
- Response times are reasonable but not guaranteed unless explicitly agreed in writing.
- Emergency or out-of-hours support is subject to availability.
CCTV and security systems
- CCTV systems are provided for domestic use unless otherwise agreed.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with UK privacy and data protection laws when using CCTV.
- Sparked Smart is not responsible for misuse of surveillance equipment.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses
- We are not responsible for data loss, system downtime, or third-party service failures
- Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Intellectual property
All designs, configurations, documentation, and materials produced by Sparked Smart remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed.
Cancellations and changes
- Appointments may be rescheduled with reasonable notice.
- Late cancellations may be chargeable where time or materials have been committed.
Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
